Lake Michigan - Hues of Blue

I took these pictures yesterday and Lake Michigan has never looked prettier (or maybe it has, I wouldn't know, ha ha)  Anyway, it was a beautiful day and although this is Lake Michigan it could have been Capri, L.A. or anywhere else. Simply stunning hues of blue.

From Van Gogh to Pollock

Tuesday I went to the Calatrava Art Museum in Milwaukee and saw the exhibit From Van Gogh to Pollock. The Calatrava is so impressive and beautiful. I liked the exhibit even if it didn't blow me away. Here's a few snippets of what caught my eye - I did enjoy the modern artists.

Georgia O'Keefe: Green Patio Door, 1955
Mark Rothko: Orange and Yellow, 1956
Amedeo Modigliani: La Jeune Bonne, 1918
Stuart Davis, New York Waterfront, 1938
Jackson Pollock: Convergence, 1952
Lee Krasner: Milkweed, 1955
Joseph Kosuth: Three Color Sentence, 1965

Back in the States...

I'm back in the States for a much needed vacation and to have a home away from home is a luxury. The trip here was a hassle (unfortunately) but I know it makes for funny memories later :-) Yesterday we had a little football party (the Green bay Packers won) but since I'm not that much into football (or sports in general) I made sure to excel in devouring wine, cheese, and crackers ;-)

Weekend Inspiration #64

This shot of photographer Alice Gao's New York home really inspires me. I currently have a yellow couch but is seriously considering a navy blue next time. Her decor is classic with an edge and really speaks to me - and those chairs... do I spy Danish design? ;-)

Staying Inside...

...seems to be a very good idea right now... :-)
