Happy Feet in L.K. Bennett

I've never really been interested in shoes but I've promised myself to pay a little more attention to footwear this spring & summer. I guess it's true what they say (I still don't know who they are... maybe all the still icons??) that cool looking footwear can spice up any outfit. I like L.K. Bennett and my feet do too (I've never had a blister wearing that brand) and it's been ages since I last wore sandals (I'm always in my flip-flops and seriously - it's not doing me any favours in the department of elegance) So I got excited when I stumbled upon these gold rope sandals. I think they're elegant and casual at the same time and perfect for city life, country relaxation and work meetings. I foresee they will become my no. 1 go-to-shoes for the next couple of months. Quality over quantity pays off yet again! :-)

Numse & Karen Blixen

I have to share this picture with you... my favourite boat in the canal is this little one to the left because its name is NUMSE which means BUTT in Danish (but in a cute way, like a child would say it) I had to laugh, though, because to its right is another boat called Karen Blixen and we all know she was a famous Danish storyteller and the epitome of culture who owned a coffee farm in Africa.... So Numse and Karen Blixen side by side - each to their own :-)

April Showers Bring May Flowers

It's time for evening walks and although it has rained today Spring is definitely in the air with these blooming branches. The saying April showers bring May flowers pretty much sums up the weather here in Copenhagen at the moment.

A Daytrip to Dragør

Saturday was the first day where it really felt like Spring and although it was a bit breezy the sun did warm your face and you only needed a light jacket.

My sister, nephew and I decided to visit Dragør, a little town a short ride outside of Copenhagen. I didn't know what to expect (honestly, I only expected a main road and a church!!) so I was very surprised to discover an old charming town with yellow houses, a bustling harbour and the nicest atmosphere everywhere. After enjoying a nice lunch we discovered a smokehouse on the harbour and since I love fish I have to go back in the coming months to try the smokehouse and explore this gem of a town even more. I hope the pictures gives you an idea of how charming Dragør is...
