Sunday Strolling in Copenhagen II
I'm trying to establish some kind of routine when it comes to making the most of my weekends - but as usual "rules" don't play that well with me. However, when I do get out on my Sunday strolls around Copenhagen I thoroughly enjoy it. Here's what caught my eye yesterday - and I made it back home to Christianshavn just in time to avoid a major downpour.
Hey Summer, what is wrong with you?

Brunch in Pouring Summer Rain
Woody Allen once said (I think it was in Play It Again, Sam) that "Rain washes memories off the sidewalk of life." If that's true today's summer downpour managed to erase everything. But who cares about getting wet - I enjoyed a lovely brunch with my beautiful friend Alina confiding in her that the only man for me is someone with a coffee farm in Africa (and me wearing the typical Martha Gellhorn outfit of khaki pants, white button down shirt and red lipstick)

Refuge by the Canal
Summer has definitely arrived (I'm not complaining) and today I had to seek refuge by the canal with my book (I've got all kinds of great reads lined up for this summer) and cool drinks to get some fresh air. My building is being renovated and is covered in plastic so you can't really breathe. Having the canal and water so close by really is a godsend.
When I came home I noticed bright light in my hall and saw they had removed the plastic from my kitchen window - Helllllooo light, good to have you back... Now I only need to clean up all the dust and dirt which flew in when I optimistically opened one of the windows. Will this circus ever end?? ;-)

Sunday Strolling in Copenhagen I
I decided to stroll through Kongens Have - the King's Garden today after my rendezvous with Alina and noticed how pretty the light was.
I ran a few errands - and because it's still too cold for summer dresses I decided to head home and watch a few more episodes of Phryne Fisher... yes, I'm addicted :-)
Chez Antoinette
A good tip to pass on when visiting Copenhagen is to explore the court yards. Many of them hide gems like this lovely and very charming Konditori Antoinette. I spent a few hours there today with Alina and ordered my usual café latte and a quiche lorraine. We both decided to return soon for their afternoon tea.
