Happy Feet in L.K. Bennett
I've never really been interested in shoes but I've promised myself to pay a little more attention to footwear this spring & summer. I guess it's true what they say (I still don't know who they are... maybe all the still icons??) that cool looking footwear can spice up any outfit. I like L.K. Bennett and my feet do too (I've never had a blister wearing that brand) and it's been ages since I last wore sandals (I'm always in my flip-flops and seriously - it's not doing me any favours in the department of elegance) So I got excited when I stumbled upon these gold rope sandals. I think they're elegant and casual at the same time and perfect for city life, country relaxation and work meetings. I foresee they will become my no. 1 go-to-shoes for the next couple of months. Quality over quantity pays off yet again! :-)

A Daytrip to Dragør
Saturday was the first day where it really felt like Spring and although it was a bit breezy the sun did warm your face and you only needed a light jacket.
My sister, nephew and I decided to visit Dragør, a little town a short ride outside of Copenhagen. I didn't know what to expect (honestly, I only expected a main road and a church!!) so I was very surprised to discover an old charming town with yellow houses, a bustling harbour and the nicest atmosphere everywhere. After enjoying a nice lunch we discovered a smokehouse on the harbour and since I love fish I have to go back in the coming months to try the smokehouse and explore this gem of a town even more. I hope the pictures gives you an idea of how charming Dragør is...

Josefinas Portugal
I was excited to pick up my Josefinas ballet flats today. I chose the classic black pair and was thrilled to see how beautifully made they are. I look forward to sporting my Audrey Hepburn look of ankle length pants, boat neck tee and ballet flats - although I'm out of place with my blonde hair but that's okay. As Audrey once wrote to Henry Mancini, upon hearing his score (Moon River) for the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961): "You are the hippest of cats." I'm certain I'll feel the same way when I go exploring in my Josefinas.

Queen Margrethe's Dresses
Thursday my sister Caroline and I decided to visit Frederiksborg Palace and see the exhibit showcasing Queen Margrethe's dresses as part of different events in connection to her 75th birthday on April 16th.
I especially liked the dressed from the 60ties and Erik Mortensen's beaded dress for Balmain really caught my eye because of its simplicity. I could easily wear that today. It was moving to see her wedding dress, so simple and so incredibly stunning and the rest is just... well, very Margrethe :-)
If you look closely you can see the pin marks from the different Orders she wears |
This cute dress from the 60ties is made by the Danish department store Magasin du Nord and originally it had long sleeves. She wore this around the time of her engagement |
My absolute favourite - Erik Mortensen for Balmain - a gift for the Queen when she got engaged. The bead work is amazing. All done by hand, of course |
Her wedding dress. The Brussel lace is missing and the Daisy pin but still... craftsmanship at its finest... |
Heavy silk brocade with mink. The Queen has never been afraid of colours |

Instagram & Copenhagen's IT-University
This week I had the immense pleasure of being interviewed by two lovely students from Copenhagen's IT-University about my use of Instagram. Their questions were great and forced me to think about why Instagram has become my favourite social media and the only one, besides my blog, I love to work with. I went off Facebook a few years ago and my life has never been better.
The building is stunning (yes, Danish design is something..) and I was able to take a few shots before I left. The architect Henning Larsen is behind this and how can you not get inspired working and studying in this environment?
Thanks to Pia and Nanna for a lovely time. I hope you get an A+ (12) on your paper - you deserve it :-)

Better Late Than Never...
I decided to turn my dining room table around last week after hosting a dinner - and now I'm all excited!! I need two extra Børge Mogensen chairs and then I'm all set. There's so much more room now and when I sit with my back to the wall I have the nicest view over my living room and out the corner window down the street. The light - which changes patterns all the time - and the view is the wonderful thing about living in a corner apartment. And yes, it took me a year to see what a little furniture moving can do but... you know... better later than never.... ;-)
